As part of an integrated group re-design, I also pursued the adaption of the existing cinema on the site. This ignored city block has the potential to be a pedestrian thoroughfare especially considering future light rail proposals. Preferencing human traffic, I developed, in coversation with my close neighbours on the site, a way to release the civic potential of the interior. A functioning Cinema was retained amidst a dynamic landscape of public spaces. Stop Motion and studies of helical structures influenced the evolution of this project.
