GEORGIAN HOUSE CONVERSION

M.Arch Yr 1

     2011

A short project to convert a Georgian House on Mountjoy Square from its original condition into contemporary urban living spaces. With a desire to facilitate an active urban community the concept was to use the high floor to ceiling heights between landings to insert bathroom units on each floor and hence make each floor into a self-contained apartment. The aim was then to convert the stairwell into a semi-external communal environment by removing the windows and allowing acces to a roof garden at the top of the stairs.
